Mako: Island of Secrets is an upcoming Australian television programme for children, pre-teens and teenagers, and is a spin-off of H2O: Just Add Water. The series, announced in July 2011,[1][2] is produced by Jonathan M. Shiff in association with Nickelodeon Australia.
Fifteen-year-old Zac decides to camp on Mako Island, unaware that three mermaids, Sirena, Nixie and Lyla, who are guardians of the island, are monitoring him. That night, when the full Moon rises, the boy comes into contact with the magic water of the Moon Pool; the following morning, he wakes up discovering he has fin-like feet and the power to control water. His new abilities will cause problems for the mermaids.
